The Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUAT) was established on January 15, 1974. The foundation stone was placed by the then Honourable Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi, at Masodha, near Ayodhya City. The campus was decided to keep at Kumarganj, Ayodhya. NDUAT, a State Agricultural University approved by UGC.

History and Overview
Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology was established on January 15, 1974. The university is named after the educator and politician Acharya Narendra Devaa. The inauguration of the university happened at the hands of the then-honorable Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi.
From that moment on, the university has been focused on the educational enrichment of its students.
The first vice chancellor of the university was Shri A.D. Pandey. (retired IAS). The current Vice-Chancellor is Dr. Akhtar Haseeb, who has been in office since October 21, 2014.
