NSP 2.0 is a Central Government’s National Scholarship Portal which is a mission mode project under the National E-Governance Plan or NEGP. Its main objective is to bring all the scholarship schemes of the states of India, Union Territories and the Central Government to the students through a common portal scholarships.gov.in. In fact, through one portal, SC/ST/OBC/EBC/BC/PwD/EWS students can get Educational Financial Assistance in their bank account through direct benefit transfer system. Through the NSP 2.0 portal scholarship application process, processing, scholarship sanctioning everything can be done. So students don’t need to go to apply for different scholarships in different portal and this is the underlying objective of this portal.
NSP 2.0 Scholarship Portal
The NSP 2.0 portal scholarships.gov.in is based on the Mission Mode project which is really playing an important role in the scholarship application process of students. Now students from school, college and university can complete their application process, scholarship verification process, status check, approval details, renewal all through NSP 2.0 portal. Basically we can see three types of scholarship schemes in NSP 2.0 portal which include Central Scheme, UGC /AICTE Scheme, and State Scheme. There are 3 types of scholarships category also like Pre-matric scholarship, Post-Matric Scholarship and Merit cum means.
These scholarships scheme are fall under under different ministries. Students can participate in different scholarship application process under different ministries according to their educational background, merit and caste. Now there is a new update in the NSP 2.0 portal that applicants are no longer required to provide additional bank account details. Aadhaar seeded bank account is automatically fetched by the portal based on student’s Aadhaar card.

NSP 2.0 Portal Eligibility Criteria
There are some eligibility criteria you must follow before apply for scholarships at NSP 2.0 portal.
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Must score 50% in the last qualified exam.
- A beneficiary who is already taking benefits from national scholarship portal, they can’t apply.
- For pre-matric scholarship, class 1 to class 10 are elibible to apply.
- For post-matric scholarship, class 11, class 12, UG, PG, vocational and other professional course’s students are eligible to apply.

NSP 2.0 Scholarship Portal Registration
- Visit the NSP 2.0 portal @scholarships.gov.in
- Take a look Applicant Corner section.
- Navigate to New Registration for AY 2023-24 from Applicant Corner.
- Select I have Aadhaar.
- Enter Mobile number, click on Get OTP
- Enter the OTP you received in your mobile, solve captcha and verify.
- Now you can see your aadhaar fatched details such as Name as per in aadhaar, address, DOB etc
- Additionally you have to enter scholarship type, scholarship category, domicile, email id, Father and Mother name and solve a captcha etc
- Check bank seeding status and click on register.
- You can see your registration number in the screen and you’ll receive the OTP in your phone number.
NSP 2.0 Portal Login 2023 -2024
- Visit the NSP 2.0 Portal Scholarships.gov.in
- Navigate to Fresh Application under Application Submission for AY 2023-24.
- Enter your registration ID, and password
- Solve captcha and click on log in.
- Now enter your personal details such as Name, income details, caste, hosteller details etc
- Provide academic details
- Provide additional details like income source, applicant’s marital status etc
- Upload required documents if required
- Preview the application and submit
- Take a printout of your submitted scholarship application form.
NSP 2.0 Portal Scholarship renewal Process
- Visit scholarships.gov.in
- Navigate to “Renewal Application” under Application Submission for AY 2023-24
- Log in with your login credentials like applicant ID or Registration ID and Password
- Update your academic details
- Check the Aadhaar seeded bank account
- Upload necessary details and submit
